Bear Creek Day Camp

Bear Creek Day Camp will be held the week of July 26 -30,2010, at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 River St., Wilkes-Barre, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. The cost of the camp is $80.00. There is an optional one night overnight at Bear Creek Camp for an additional $12.00. Scholarship money is available. Lunches will be provided each day by C.E.O. our pastors.

Potluck Fellowship Meals Planned for World hunger

Immediately following the 9:30 worship services on Sunday July 25th, and Sunday, August 29th, there will be a potluck brunch in the downstairs Fellowship Hall. Persons attending these Fellowship meals are asked to bring a brunch item to share: coffee cake, pastry, muffins, bagels, donuts, milk, juice. The church will provide coffee.

The goal of these fellowship meals is to raise our awareness of the issue of hunger in our community and in the world. A free will offering will be collected with proceeds going to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal. Also, members are invited to bring can goods on these Sundays for the Weinberg Food Pantry that is run at our church by CEO three times a week. Speak to one of our pastors to see how you can help with these meals.
